Triclops International - Big Day Out 2002

The Performance was a fusion of the machine based orchestra constructed for the what is music festival 2001 (documentation to follow soon) and the installation @ the entrance / exit of the big day out festival - sydney showground. Instruments included a pressure jet engine, acoustic shockwave canon, various sirens & pneumatic horns, hells bells, the shipping containers themselves, and other assorted noise makers. The 4 shipping containers utilised to form the entrance / exit of the venue had an array of pneumatic actuators attached which created a vast percussive instrument. These were all controlable via midi note data and hence the entire structure could be played like a conventional electronic instrument. Following is the festival description of the performance.....
"An acoustic ensemble of mechanical horrors presented by the Triclops crew. Machine generated noise and cacophony to wince by. Extreme sound pressure waves bashing your frontal lobes and reverberating your thoracic cavity. Be prepared for violent illness or at least a healthy dose of disorientation sickness. Ear protection highly recommended but not guaranteed to stem the onslaught. And yes, the PA is off. Approx.15 min.
